W202 loss power cant go forward but reverse

Finally my jerky shift (only when it is cold) gearbox failed. It happened when I was stopped in a junction then tried to pull off but no power. It feels like the gear stuck in neutral, no power in D 2nd nor 3rd but I can do reverse. The engine and everything still running perfectly as usual, ATM oil changed 3 months ago and the car has full service. Before getting it to dignose by specialist or MB dealer to face a big bill, i wish here someone could give some advice. otherwise it will be sold as spare and repairs since i wont be able to afford to recondition the gearbox.

Your fault sound like a hole blocked or valve on the valve block. its only a sump off thing to check,,I can give addresses of good gearbox people near you

Get the codes read......sounds like a speed controller plate failure.

If it is the controller plate failure, you dont need a new gearbox, but the plate replaced which is under the sump.

by the way, I found a 1996 c200 mercedes gearbox, the parts dealer said it will fit on my 1994 c200, but i am not sure, will you know? thanks again
