Hi

I am just about to buy a reconditioned TB as mine is leaking fuel and the idle valve/sensor bit is knackered according to my very "technical" local garage bod.

So is it just a case of a bit of common sense with taking all the pipes and wires off, removing the old unit putting the new one on and connecting it all back up and off i go again or is it a tad more involved?

Cheers.

Thanks for the replys guys, although mine is different to the unit in the link i'm sure it will give me some pointers.
As for my problems it is leaking a small amount of petrol from somewhere and it will not idle at all even when warm(getting used to left foot breaking now), and i also have to push the accelerator pedal to get it to fire up.

You should get the codes read first and then go from there. There is no need to guess about these matters.

It may be for instance a diaphragm gone in the fuel pressure regulator; and consequently fuel getting through the ruptured diaphragm and flowing down the vacuum tube into the pipe into the throttle body, but leaking out where it ENTERS the throttle body.

Just one possibility, but get the codes read by an experience tech that is familiar with your generation car.
