W203 220CDI 2006 - Leaking Injector Seal?

I have been getting a smell of burnt diesel into the cabin over the last few days, had a look under the bonnet and find this:

You can see the dark patch near the injector (the smudge is where I rubbed it with my finger).

Is it safe to say this is most likely a leaky injector seal?

Going to see this morning if its covered by my used car warranty (doubt it, nothing else has been), if not any ideas on cost to sort?

You'll need to be looking for a bubbling puddle of diesel around the neck of the injector, or a black tar-like substance.

The stain where you have marked with your finger doesn't scream leaky seal to me, a birds eye view would give a better picture.

Cost dependent (if it is a seal) on how easy the injector comes out. Replacement parts - a couple of quid.

There's an indie in Aldershot if I remember correctly.

EDIT: Here it is -> Mercury Prestige, Aldershot, GU12 01252 318318

Tbh I did look at it while running and couldn't see any diesel leaking, also the injectors themselves look clean.

The smell of burnt diesel only seems to occur straight after startup from cold and soon disappears...

...also if it is relevant I have been getting a glow plug warning light intermittently for a while, had no problems in starting so haven't got round to sorting it...

I see nothing at all in the picture to suggest an injector leak - are you sure the smell is not from the exhaust?

Took it into the indy in Aldershot mentioned above and except for some minor dampness on the fuel filter they could find nothing wrong.

All been cleaned and basically keep an eye on it for now...
