Hi all,
This is my first proper post on here, and guess what? I'm asking a question.

On Friday, MB Mansfield serviced my 56 plate C200 CDI Coupe W203 727...
They say they replaced the auto box oil, I now have a problem with the gear changing properly.
It's a bit lumpy and if I excellerate hard and then come off the gas quickly the box changes up and then down and then into neutral (Sometimes with a jolt!) the engine then free revs until I put the stick into neutral and back into D for a gear to engage again.

NOTE: If I drive it very carefully the problems don't happen.

Is this normal settling down after a transmittion oil change? Is it possible that the wrong was used? or is there simply not enough in?
The car seems to hold onto gears longer than it did before too.

Please help, I have to be in Scotland in the morning and can't take it back to MB before Friday. Is this situation causing damage?

Many thanks, PEte...

Is it still under warranty?
Phone Mobilo & get another car while yours is fixed, don't risk further damage.

Oh dear..if the box didnt have a problem before the service/oil change ..then you should be straight on the phone to the service department, I would suggest that possibly they may have interfered with the electrics and the box needs resetting on the STAR diagnostic machine..

The gear box fluid level sounds wrong, but hard to be sure, is it leaking underneath.

It would be very wrong of us to say yes drive it when you know that it is not right, the box can be damaged if the fluid is low,

Was the box OK before, or was there any reason why they changed it

There were no problems before taking it in.
I think it was changed because the Service manual advises it to be changed after 60K
I'm a high millage user.
How can I tell if it's low? is there a dip stick? I know the engine bay has a large removable plastic cover and there is what looks like a small (Green I think) dipstick with a black tip.

If I drive carfully the problems go away, it's only when I push it!

Thanks

Why not call in on a MB dealer on route and have the level checked
