Juast about to change the ATF on my 2002 W203 180 Estate. I have read all the relevant threads on the site and seen the DIY guide. However, I still have 4 basic questions with which I would appreciate some guidance:

1. Is there a drain plug on my torque converter and how do I find it. If not how do I get the fluid out that is not in the sump?

2. Where is the filler plug? Centre - rear (just before the bulkhead) of engine bay with a black cap saying "service only"?

3. Can I buy a dip stick and if so where and how much ? Does the dip stick go in filler tube (above at pont 2)?

4. Do Ineed anything else except the new filter, sump gasket and new ATF ?

Thanks

Hi
1] according to the info on this forum, no: remove hose to heat exchanger at rad
2] That will be thedipstick tube with a non reusable cap see Parrot's link in DIY
3] YES see above the drain and filler plugs are on the box
4] buy the ATF fm Dealer (synthetic) filter joint & plug washer from Euro identical at half the price.

Thanks.

Parrot does not say where to get a hold of the dip stick. Any ideas? The measuring how much comes out and replacing the same is fine, as long as it was at the correct level to begin with!

The cap on the dipstick tube appears to be reusable - comes off easy and stays on firm!

Just to be sure on point three. The filler plug is on the side of the box itself? And new draim and filler plug washers

There is a post on the forum somewhere with a picture of the dipstick. Some dealers are reluctant to sell them to you.
Other forum members have made dispsticks from that pvc covered spring wire used to hold up net curtains. As the disptick bottoms out that seems to work ok.
