C180 (2007) W203 Coupe, Door Trim Removal

Hi,

This is my first post and request for help. I've seen by the thread that this is a common problem (seat belt buckle damaged speaker grill).

It would be appreciated if I could be sent instructions as to how I can remove the door trim in order to replace the broken speaker grill.

My e-mail address isI look forward to hearing from someone shortly.

Kind regards,

Ally

As the broken speaker grill is such a common fault, and judging by the requests, a lot of people struggle removing the door panel on the W203 coupe, could Malcolm post the instructions as a sticky or similar which would save him having to send numerous e mails to us all.

And yes, my drivers door speaker grill is broken too!!

I could do a DIY on this but I need a car to take the picture, I ´cannot use MB stuff as copyright

W203 door card removal

Hi Television
My C320 2000 round headlamp (W203 I believe) has only occasional power to passenger door lock/mirror/window. I want to check for poor electrical connection so would very much appreciate these instructions too.
Regards
Roger

Hi,
Just been quoted £350 by Mercedes garage to replace my 2 cracked speaker covers caused by the old seat belt issue. Incidentally I had the seatbelts replaced under the cars warrenty but they wouldn't replace the speaker covers even though the damage had been caused by the seat belts not retracting.
Can someone (Malcolm !) advise on the cost of buying the replacement parts and the instructions for fitting. Model C180 kompressor SE Coupe Auto 2006. Hope you can help.

Hello and welcome,, about £30 for the covers and you can fit with ease.

when the door card is off just push out the pegs(4) and push in the new grill,, then just melt the ends of the fitting pegs with a soldering iron or glue them.

I can send you the card instructions

Thanks Malcolm for the instructions, I managed to get around to doing my speaker grill this afternoon. I managed to do it by only removing the bottom half and getting the soldering iron in behind, saved a bit of time. In all it took about 30mins.
