W203 loosing power

Hi.
My C270 CDI behaves strange recently. When I start the engine, for few minutes everything is fine. After a while it looses power. Does not want to do kick downs when I accelerate and revs only go up to 2000.
Does anyone know what it could be?

Could be many things I'm afraid
Blocked kat ( usually start to become apparent as engine temp goes up)
Boost leak ( you will usually hear an air leak on acceleration)
Air mass sensor faulty
What year is it? If it has a vvt turbo could be this as well, although I would think not

It sounds like its going into what's called limp mode - the turbo will not be operating and revs limited.

Typical candidates seem to be EGR valve needs a clean or not working. MAF sensor (air flow) knackered, boost leaks.

Another thing to look for is a failed swirl flap on the inlet manifold. Look for black oil underneath the inlet manifold on the engine block.

Get the fault codes scanned on star. I had the same problem and it was boost pressure sensor. Replaced it and it is fine since then.
