Cannot do a search at the moment (forum search no working), so will ask the question?

Are engine mounts on a C Class W203 220cdi prone to failure? Car is 45000 miles and 7 years in age.

Since Friday Ive got a distinct vibration, engine related, akin to the ML270 when its mountings failed. Speaking with an indie sometime back, he mentioned that the airconditioner clutch is prone to ceasure on a 270 engine and it feels like engine mount failure, so hence the question:- Engine mounts, airconditioner clutch or other?

With engine related item the roughness would be there all of the time and engine mounts would be there when pulling

Thank-you for the information, allowed me to return back (300 miles) without worry. Aircon works fine on/off, vibrations through the range and gear change a little clunky, so as you advised, engine mounts.

Well... wonder if they have an Indy in Stuttgart  ... loathed to go back to Daimler AG and no kit here to do the job myself!
