Did you read the codes and diagnose the fault yourself?
Yes....Did you read the codes and diagnose the fault yourself?
Interesting video, thanks.Anyhow guys just to update you. Car now resurrected and running sweet after the three injectors were refurbished by Diesel Bob at Ribble Valley Diesels. The price was also very reasonable at £260 return postage. İ emptied and cleaned out the fuel tank then refilled with fresh diesel, some Redex and a cup of 2-stroke oil (as advised). After priming with the ignition four or five times it sprang into life (with some initial plumes of smoke). After about 20 mins running and gentle revving i took it out for a quick blast to clear things out.
With the 2-stroke there's a tidge of smoke but once that tank is gone I'm sure the little bit of smoke will too. On the quick blast down the road it also didn't go into limp mode so fingers crossed it just needs an O2 sensor to get rid of the last fault code
Lesson learnt the hard way but hey-ho I'm lot wiser on fuel injectors and the common rail system.
No....but i may get them coded for optimal performanceInteresting video, thanks.
Toward the end when it came to testing it occurred to me that the rig is expensive kit and unlikely to be available to the majority.
W/o testing the other attention is going to result in an unknown outcome, demonstrated as you still don't seem to be aware of what the issue was with them.
Sending to Diesel Bob seems like the better approach, that's what I'll do when I pull he injectors in the Viano.
Previously I've been led to believe the the Piezo injector can't be refurbed, that looks to be a myth.
Did your returned injectors require recoding when reinstalled?
