Hi guys,

I was hoping you could help me determine what's up here; our 2009 w204 c220 OM646 has started limping, EML light and dash showed a traction control warning saying 'currently unavail. see owners manual' and I read the following four codes with my iCarsoft reader. Note two codes say the rail pressure is too high and one says it is too low, hopefully a sensor I can swap out?

2075-009: Check system 'High pressure control'. The maximum pressure has been exceeded. Rail pressure regulation via quantity control valve.
22E7-005: Check system 'High pressure control'. The rail pressure is too high. Rail pressure regulation via the quantity control valve.
2075-000: The fault code is not found in the database.
22E7-000: Check system 'High pressure control'. The rail pressure is too low.

Thank you in advance!

I've just pulled the engine cover off and discovered this fresh black gunk just up (towards the windscreen) from the fuel filter. Potential issue here?

Yes, a bit close up, but if you have a leak on the supply side that's big enough to introduce air, then the rail pressure will over and undershoot and cause these codes.

Looks like you have found the problem. Give it a clean down to isolate the source of the leak and take it from there.
Keep us posted.

Thanks for your replies! The photos are a bit close up, I've taken another - looks worse but I think that's the effect of the flash on the gunk. It seems to be the smaller of the two lines from the filter.

As said, clean of all down. Degrease will have that looking perfect. then id exactly where the leak is from. Does not seem to be at the diesel filter per se.

filter looks new, has a recent change disrupted something.
