I am having a weird problem with my C350 (2007) (.056), so we are going to replace the thermostat. And because of that i also decided to replace the water pump. (belt + the round things are already done)

But since i am on a kinda tight schedule, and the MB dealer wasn't sure i would have the OEM version on time, i am looking at an aftermarkt one.

Which is not that hard normally, but there are a lot of different brands and when i search for water pump problems there seems to be a lot of bad quality out there.

So which brand should i go for? (HEPU, Febi, SKF, Graf etc.)
Any ideas and or thoughts?

Generally, I have found SKF, who are a world leader in bearing manufacture, to supply very good quality parts.

I can't specifically comment on water pumps for Mercedes applications, but I would trust SKF.

MB logistics is pretty good. Usually a day max if item in UK or 3 if from Germany. What was their excuse.
Avoid the cheapest and go for higher priced one.

Normally i often also use that "way of thinking" :) but the difference price wise in the more expensive ones is very small so i was hoping for some "inside" information from an experienced mechanic or something like that.
i live in The Netherlands by the way. They told me it could take a couple of days (max a week) and i really need it by Saturday.

Cant say I have had issues with febi.
If its really hard to get at go oem .if not go mid range.price wise.

Mmmm not getting any easier like this Hahahaha. i was hoping for a solid "pick brand A" from several users :p

Maybe an idea if i also explain the problem:

When the car is at normal temperature
(after 30 min highway) and i reach a street or a traffic light, the fan goes up to a 140% . According to my simple icarsoft device this is done at the request of the engine (so NOT the AC).

We have also checked the car with Xentry, and what happens is the cooling fluid reaches 110 / 112 degrees. We couldnt really find a reason why, except that according to my mechanic friend the thermostat opens quit late. So he/we figured it probably is the thermostat, which isn't 100%. So any other thoughts are of course more than welcome.

So we will replace this and because we are working on the car at that moment (and i also have to drive for a hour to get there so we often combine things), we will also replace the waterpump. Which technically could also be (a part of) the problem. Correct me if i am wrong, i am a computer nerd not a car nerd :p

I would rather spend a bit more and replace something even if it could maybe last a few 1000 kilometers more than having to go there every week.

maybe a bit spoiled but i like my car in the best possible condition possible (within reason of course).

Car has got 185500 kilometers on it.

As I said, anything bearing related, go SKF. You can usually order direct from their website at 50% less than the nearest motor factors/parts shop.
