Hi guys,

I have a 65 plate C220d, I started experiencing some issues where the infotainment screen would start to get fuzzy and show lines across the screen. It eventually died completely, my understanding was that it was a screen issue so I replaced it. This didn't make any difference, I then bought and replaced the main CD/head unit. This solved the screen issue and the reversing camera shows, the radio works when the ignition is off but turns off when the ignition is On or the engine is running. It shows Anti Theft warning and says contact your Mercedes dealer.
I got in touch with my local dealers and they tell me that the only thing that they can do is to replace the unit and want to charge £1000+ for it, rather than just pairing this unit to the car.

I've done some research and apparently it isn't hard to pair the unit to the car, you need a code and some Merc software.

Will someone be able to guide me with this? I have attached photos of both the old and the replacement units. The original one is marked O and the replacement marked R.

Thanks

Some time ago I was looking into upgrading my unit to COMAND, and I was told that programming the unit to the car needs someone who has Xentry with an online account.

If you're in the UK, try contacting www.comandonline.co.uk - they were quite helpful and may be able to sort this out for you.
