Started E320 today, went to move off, and it faltered and then picked up, and subsequently drove normally. Engine management light blinked at me during the faltering process, and now remains on with 4 restarts.
Understand it is related either to a fuel injection or exhaust emission problem, and probably is the latter, as the engine had only justed started and was not warmed up. Anybody got any ideas how to get rid of the engine management light on the dash board. Computer records "No malfunctions"

It could be a failing air mass sensor or maybe the Lamda probe that's on its way out....both a fairly common reasons for the engine check light comming on.

MJTRAY was right it was diagnosed as the air mass sensor, and has been changed.
I have the old one so I can test it to see if it was a transient or whether it really had given up the ghost

Make sure your air filter housing lid is on square and bolted down properly as it is dust and grit which kills a MAS.

Regards

PS Martin, just wondered if you are staying in the Caversham area as I see you sold your house.
