Tried to book a C service with MB Brighton and they say in UK we only do A & B services. I had D last time so girl said I need an "A" @£504 all in. Only reason to go main dealer is brake software update requirement. Shall I go indy and forget the software update? Can any garage reset the service indicator? any advice greatly appreciated.

It's not rubbish. The letters above B denote the approx time the service should take.

"Service C is a normal Mercedes service based on age, condition of vehicle and time/mileage since last service. The list of items to be serviced is determined by the on board computer and "C" determines the length of time for the service. "C" is about 3.5 hours and so your dealer will charge you 3.5 hours labour plus parts.
Services range from "A" thru to "H", H being longest and A shortest."
