Hi all,

I was driving today on W211 e270 cdi, and while I was driving, the orange Engine management icon lit up on the dash and engine cut itself. Then, when I switched on, the car went into emergency mode. After switching off and then on after a while, light was gone and drove as normal.

Took car to local garage, they checked codes, and code came up as lamda sensor, ie, dirty oxygen sensor. So they put some redex cleaner in, and revved the car, then some dirt came out, so they thought problem was solved. I picked up car, drove a short distance, then light came on again, along with emergency mode.

Took back to garage, and have now left till tomorrow, as they say they need to run some more tests.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Digi

This will be the MAF, they do not respond very well from cleaning, Much cheaper from Bosch, only ½ the price of MB the O2 sensor comes on as the MAF has made it change from the stored settings

Why not unplug the MAF,if nost of your problems disappear then you have the answer
