Hi, Could anyone look up the part number for the gear selector assembly for E Class WDB2112262A494898?

Started to get limp mode due to selector position implausible.

Thanks in advance

£577.27 for the complete shifter assy, but they've got none! so was going the breakers route.

Ouch , I feel your pain !
I suspect it's a bad connection or another example of early 2000s wonderful lead free solder, so will give it a stern looking at and possibly go over some of the joints. At first I thought it was being caused by a dodgy battery because it only happened after a cold start but is more frequent now and the battery has been replaced

There were some good pictures of the inside of the module on the 'other' forum.

I think I saw a 'How to re- solder the joints' on this selector module. That's why I kept my old one.
'I'll get around to it one day' scenario :D

Can you remove the electronics module with the shifter in place?

I am not sure, as I removed my whole selector to replace it. It's not a hard job to remove the complete selector and it will be much easier to resolder with it on the kitchen table :D along with a cup of tea and biscuit at your side ;)

Replacement selector fitted. Wasted ages trying to fit the circlip in situ before realising the circlip is fitted to the bush and the pin then snaps into it. Older and wiser

Update: the replacement turned out to be flakier than the original.
Sometimes I'd switch on and it'd show P but then change to R with no change in lever position.
So, had ½ hour with solder braid and a very fine tip to redo the suspect joints. We'll see how that goes. The worst part was breaking the glue to get the cover off
