hi
on my C238, I had to replace the two front tires as the right most tire had severe wear on the inner wall, as if some metal was cutting a groove into it, so much so it split the tire and i had to get two new replacements,

when it happened i asked my indy why it was happening and he guessed there was not enough air in the tire even though i had pumped them up to the recommended level on the inside of the fuel cap,

fast forward a year and the replacement tire on the right side only, is exhibiting the same behaviour, i can see the groove being 'burned' into the tire, but i cannot see anywhere on the car that could be causing it, it's no where near as bad as it was on the previous tires which were replaced but i can see i'll have the same problem soon enough if i do nothing,

do any of you have any ideas please ?

cheers
niall

Any speed cushions in your regular route and do you cane it into the bends?

Any speed cushions in your regular route and do you join it into the bends?

“Cane it” bit of autocorrect nonsense

Speed cushions should not be straddled as they ruin the inside of the tyres and regularly crack rims. 1 wheel in the gap and the other over the middle of the cushion

it's a mix of tires, the first set to get the problem were Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 245/35R20 95Y NA0 FP and now i've noticed it on my Firestone Potenza S001

I've booked tracking on the car tomorrow, let's see does that help...

I had the issue on my GY AS3, inside edge torn to the cord, were run flats, many have also had the same issue on these tyres in Germany, there is a long thread on it.

But if it has also happened on another make, then could be a problem with the car.

My Goodyear was also the same size as yours, I went to WIM to get the tracking checked after changing the tyre, Joe there said there was not a lot of adjustments needed doing, he blamed the run flats for the damage. This occurred 18 months ago.

This week have changed all RF GY, to NRF Michelin ps4s. It has made a big difference to the ride quality.
