- Your Mercedes
- Mercedes S350 W221 2011
Hey everyone, hope you're having a great day.
I've bought a Mercedes S350, 2011 model. It's my first Mercedes. It's been a great car so far. A few niggles here and there but it's generally been fine.
I've started to notice an issue with the transmission recently. I'll describe the symptoms below.
- While driving, the gearbox starts behaving a weird. There is usually some RPM slippage. When I try and accelerate, the rpm dial moves up a little bit without any change in speed.
- I'm unable to change the gears using paddle shift.
- The performance is also very limited, increasing speed very slowly.
- Only way I've found so far to drop gears is to slow down so the car is forced to drop down the gears
- When accelerating back up, it shifts gears as as if it's almost forced to do so, at about 3000 RPM. It holds onto the gear until it has to change, rather than a control unit telling the gearbox to change gears.
Restarting the car fixes the issue.
I've had the gearbox serviced in April. If anyone can shed some light on this issue, I'd be grateful.
Thanks in advance,
Collin
