Washer wipe relay w129 1992 300sl - Intermittent wiper

Hello guys I am having a problem with my wiper control. I have to turn it to full speed initially for it to work at any position. Even when its on intermittent it only wipes every now and again. I have checked my manual and it mentions the fuse/relay which I can only see a fuse which is fine but cannot see any relay unit. Your advice much appreciated b4 it tips down on us again. I doubt it is the relay. As the 2nd speed (1st normal speed) does not go through the relay. More than likely a problem with the motor. Suggest getting it into your local dealer or specialist.
