Hi Guys,

I'm currently scouting around for a petrol S212 for my sister as a possible purchase.

Here's one i'm looking at. Probably won't buy this but just a useful conversation starter.

It's a 250 - I think she would be happy enough with a 200 and the lower insurance loading (Ireland!!). At the end of the day, it's probably just a remap away from E250 power.

It only has Audio 20 though. Does that mean it's the smaller screen?

For context, she is currently driving a petrol Toyota Auris and has been looking at crossovers and some estates from Peugeot/Renault. While an S212 will be a handul of years older for the same price as a fresher alternative, it would be way more comfortable and as reliable. I tell her to get the number plate thing out of her head and she won't regret an S212 .. I am biased though ;)

Interested to hear what people think.

Why has it got a smelly thing hanging from the interior mirror I wonder, is it a bit whiffy in there ?

I know... are those exhaust tips OEM too? Perhaps because it's sport?

I'd be getting it debadged for her. ;)

For some reason someone has added quad exhaust outlets much like the E53 S213 and to answer your question they aren’t standard issue. If I were looking I’d buy a MY 2012

Eww.. not a fan of that. What is the upgrade with 2012 MY? Facelift?

Question is does she actually need something the size of the 212,

You mean the size of an estate or even the saloon 212?

She wasn't something bigger than what she has. She has mentioned the prospect of children etc.

Just thinking if she’s think pug size than the 212’s are bigger again, so really deciding if she really needs to jump to that size or not. Peugeot are a nice place to be and not as bad as they used to be but no forum like this one for sure

The interior of the modern Peugeot is a bit Marmite IMO :(

I quite liked my 508 RXH,

Had that got the eyeline of the dash above the steering wheel though, that's what I find a bit Marmite

Ah no it was still a little more traditional at that time thinking about it.
Though I actually like that new look, as you say marmite, but guys that’s why we’re all different.

Quite apart from all the comments above, that seems a tad expensive for a 10-year-old car - even if it has low miles.

It does doesn't it.

I agree it's a bit pricey.

But its also probably a funny market now. Petrol demand is probably on the up, considering whats going on in big cities.

Also there are only a handful of petrol S212s on AT.

But still expensive.

I am pretty glad I changed to petrol when I did. Looking on AT the likes of mine have stayed the same price now as it was a year ago. Although I miss the torque of the Diesel it is a nicer drive IMO :)

Pity the quad pipes aren't even the correct shape for the S212.
Those are oval and should be trapezoid to be correct.

I far prefer the front end of the facelift 13/14 model too.

Regarding price, the demand for certain models on the second hand market is pushing prices up.
Just out of curiosity, I checked what WBAC offered for my car. They are offering over £2k more than I paid for it almost 2 years ago, such is demand.
