What Happened to EPC?

Dear all, for several years I was able to purchase access to the MB Service & Parts Net portal (EPC) and it was an invaluable tool whilst I was restoring our 320SL, however, I think there's been major changes to the system which has left me confused about how to access parts information.

I have a Daimler user ID and access code for an aftersales.daimler.com website but my old EPC web shortcut takes me to a page that mentions XENTRY Shop that I'm not authorised to access. I've also seen a link to a B2B Connect website but my Daimler user ID and password won't allow me access there either.

Can someone please explain what's occurred?

Mercedes discontinued EPC and have replaced it with an online Xentry portal that covers all the services you are entitled to with your Xentry system. Its not as friendly as EPC but its bang up to date and covers all cars from all markets including Japan and USA.

I do not know if you can purchase just the parts element of this. Id contact Mercedes head office and ask them.

MB seems to have got all wound up about EPC and access thereto. There are a lot of complaints on the Official MB Club forum about this issue, some people having to wait over 12 months to be granted access. Usual MB nonsense.Whenever a dealer has printed off parts diagrams for me, they seem to be identical to what is still available on 7Zap.

I gave up on MB EPC years ago. There was always some thing wrong, it was a pretty poor set up when compared to BMW EPC.
For my Ponton I got hold of a factory/dealer parts book and is in German and English, quite useful.

Even the official Mercedes EPC lagged behind about three months after build. The new system is right up to date.

Thanks for your replies.

I've been a big user of RealOEM over the years and trust it completely for our BMWs, although the appearance over the last year or two of huge ads right in the middle of parts diagrams and lists has been a bit of a pain.

In regard to using RealOEM for Mercedes, the link takes you to nemigaparts.com and the VIN of our 1997 320SL isn't recognised; I've inputted the full 17-digit VIN as requested but it states that it is "absent in the database", have I done something wrong? Obviously I can use the general search facility but this isn't specific to our VIN, with EPC I could see the full datacard for our SL and individual manufacturer codes.

7Zap looks usable.

I had a reply from service-parts.net@daimler.com who pointed out that, once I've paid my dues, aftersales.daimler.com is the correct website.
