Always had you down for a 50s Yank man after our previous conversations. :)

Been there done that, you talking about my 4 '59 Bel Aire's Dave.
Was a pi now sorted properly on carbs ;)

2.5 Dave good call ;)
we had a 1972 2.5 pi with Lucas “prince of darkness” fuel pump. Once that was fixed it was a great car apart from the seat foam.

Unfortunately no one really knew the injection system, not even the chaps at Triumph, they got the diagrams in the workshop manual wrong to start off with lol. The pump was the biggest problem, they had it sitting above the hot exhaust for starters. Not good when sitting in your police pi patrol car with the fuel evaporating from the hot exhaust.
The seat foams seems to go a little soft with age.

The Mrs took my car for the dump run  seriously!!!!!

In my old car I used to tip runs full to the gunnals with all sorts of wet sh1t. Now we have the merc I'm only allowed to put stuff in the boot after previously lining it with a tarp and "don't put too much in". Sadly I agree, still means perfect rear seats.;)

I had and ex police 2.5 pi, came cheap to me because of the metering unit issue, had it fixed by the man himself, Frank Caudwell, absolute hoon mobile.

No lens debris on the ground, did they pick it up so as not to give the game away? I just don't understand why people don't fess up when they damage someone else's car.

I picked it up, it is in the passenger foot well!!!

Pointless Craig, the light is £100, insurance excess is £250, will source a second hand unit when I get the correct part number

That just ties in with the weather to depress me more..! Sorry dude. I'm with the bloke off Pulp Fiction on vandalism of cars.
