Mine too as soon as I saw it. My father has been known to peel stickers off cars and hand them back to the salesman before driving off the lot!!!

I always say to the salesman "No stickers !!"

Took it for an 80 mile round trip to Mudeford on the Dorset coast and achieved 31.4 mpg which is a new record for me in this car. Can't really take any credit for that as the traffic was heavier and slower than usual and there is now a long 50mph section through the M27 “improvements”.

Checked all fluids and tyres ready for a trip next week.
Picked up a scratch on os rear door during the last 2 days. Exactly the right height for a ring or handbag carelessly walking past in a car park. Grrr. not bad enough to be deliberate, but enough to make me fidgety till I polish it out.

Used the old bus to take the dogs on a 100mile round trip to the beach. They loved it! IMG_20190418_144824.jpg To be honest we did too. Pretty deserted so able to let them run free. They're all collapsed on the floor snoring now :)
The bus as always was it's normal comfortable refined self. 31.8 mpg so I'm happy with that.

Today I drove into my nearest town and an R230 appeared behind me, the image of my own car. The driver overtook with a poop of the horn and a cheery wave. As I pulled into the supermarket car park the driver came over to say hello. His car is the same colour, same blue leather trim but a SL350. He's had it from new and it looks pristine. Curiously it's done the same mileage too. Like me, he doesn't think he'll ever sell it. Great cars.

Just noticed that my E class is 30k miles since the last gearbox ATF and filter change . I may try this next one myself on a warm summers day .
Loaded all the bits needed into my eBay basket it comes to £107 . I might keep an eye out for an eBay discount voucher .

There's something about driving and owning an SL. I know there are some people that will cite issues like ABC, SBC and boot leaks but all these potential issues are now easily and fairly cheaply fixable. At the moment the R230 SL's are bargains for what you are getting.

Rather large service today,
So, B service, ATF, all filters, brake fluid, rear brake pads, turbo seals, tracking, adjust front wheel bearings, lube the sunroof, thermostat, wiper blades and I’m sure something else too but can’t remember what now (don’t want to look at the invoice again £1100 lighter), but the car feels lovely again, it did before but somehow a fresh service just puts some piece of mind all it well in the world of my MB.

VW Scirocco. The Quattro, E350 CDi Blue Efficiency Sport Coupe, now both gone

Done that too, I'll put up with their name on number plates as it's a legal requirement now, but, free advertising? No chance, unless of course they pay me or compensate me in another fashion.

Given the car a really good spring clean this morning with no Mark. Who is Mark ? He is a lad of mid thirties who has some complex mental issues.

He is a nice enough lad but covered in tattoos and piercings. I don't like to ignore him when passes by but he is very time consuming. He goes to Tesco's Express which is just down road about three times a day and buys Bananas. The staff in Tesco's have given him a nickname of 'Banana Man'. :D:D

Anyway I have been thinking about changing up to a W205 of late but the old girl is virtually mint having only done 28,000 miles. Looking at it this morning after it's spring clean has made me think again :)

E350 CDi AMG Night Premium Plus (Sept 2015) with GAD Tuning re-map. Definitely not double badged.

You practically came past my house. I'm about a mile from J7, Hedge End.

The 50 mph section is going to be there while the road workers scratch their arses for two years while it turns into a magic 'smart motorway'. Given the amount of traffic on the M27 and the density of the junctions, having variable speed limits basically means that 50mph section is now permanent, soon to become aspirational. Even 40mph will become a distant dream.

Hope you enjoyed Mudeford, though. It is beautiful!

I love "smart" motorways. Took me well over 3hrs to get from Gloucester to Plymouth last week, thanks to them.

Take 3 lanes of 70mph traffic, squeeze that in to 3 lanes of 60mph traffic by Filton, then in to a 50... and then in to a 40.

Congestion was then so bad that it was nearly 14 miles south of the Avonmouth split before anything was close to flowing properly again!

Same for me last week, just slows everything down, doesn't help at all
