Took it to Benz on the Green in Horndean.

And parked up next to me. :D

A good day out was had by many.

It was indeed. I had a good run back home this morning, exactly 250 miles but with at least one dead fly per mile which are going to be cleaned off either later today or, probably, in the morning...

Changed the oil in the 215. Getting it up to temperature, and unscrewing the oil filter made it work much better and quicker.

Then I gave the engine bay a wash and spruce up, a Fairy Liquid solution to degrease the plastic parts and then ACF50 all over everything.

Then I set about diagnosing the failed rear PDC sensor on the 251. No joy.

Then I set about replacing the failed LHS brake lamp. Looks like a bad contact in the harness somewhere...

What's with the fail on the rear PDC diagnosis Craig?
My iCarsoft i980 handily tells me that all rear sensors have failed, and I don’t believe that to be the case. Also, today I didn’t have anyone compliant to kneel by each sensor and listen for the clicking...

Can you not just put ignition on, put it in reverse and...?

I'm sure I was able shift gears in the CLS with ignition on... didn't try it with the C63.

Even if you can't, start engine, engage reverse, kill ignition, turn ignition on.
Won't work on later cars with more "brains".

Remember to ensure parking brake is on.....

This car has the column mounted electronic gear selector; I’ve not tried it but I don’t think that will work.
