If I tighten the parking brake pads up to maximum (inside the rear discs) , does anyone know how many notches I could back off with to get the "correct" 5 clicks at the footbrake end?

I wind them till the wheel just locks then back off till it's not binding (a slight rub is ok).
Go for a drive when done and put you hand on the hub. It shouldn't be hot.
I'm not overly bothered by the number of clicks as long as it works without binding.

I love the stuff . I couldn't wait to remove the old ones, as the cracking looked awful. I just need to give the car a good clean now as the wheels are mucky.

Whilst we were out and about earlier today I thought I would get the misus to take a quick snap showing the "MPG".

I don't think 25.4mpg isn't too bad for a 5lt V8 starting from cold and doing a bit of tootling about for nearly half an hour.....

Whilst at the Benz on the Green I spoke to a couple of chaps with newer S500's and they told me that they were lucky to get 22-25mpg on motorway driving down from London!

Alex old boy, it’s felt like the last year has been entirely uphill...

I’ve spent a lot of time adjusting my driving style. 63-65mph in a five litre petrol V8 car returns better efficiency than the same speed in a three litre diesel V6!
