Haven't as yet BC , on purchase the boot lid needed adjustment and lubrication helped the situation massively as the hinges were very stiff so i thought it prudent to keep on top of it

Had a quote today from a local garage to replace the AC condenser and dryer on my SL500.......just over £600  including the regas. Still waiting for the quote from my local MB indie, it's taken 6 weeks so far for some reason :(
Maybe they have been shut for Covid
Or they have forgotten :D

got a bit over confident with the electric polisher , think I will need to spend a few quid on the old girl and get both rear quarters done and the NS door below the rubbing strip and may even stretch to a wheel refurb

I found a new boxed Mercedes branded H7 bulb so thought I’d put it in my spares kit under the boot floor.

That done (busy day here...) and I remember a tick tick tick I heard driving home Tuesday night from pax side rear. Thought I’d take a look...

Yes that is my very new <750 miles rear tyre :(

No bubbles after removing it so I think I’ve been (very) lucky :).
I always listen out for stone / nail / screw in tyre noises and if you get it out soon enough you can be lucky :)

That's fine unless it has affected the integrity of the tyre.:(

You may find it leaks in use as the tread deflects whilst driving.

Possibly but the only airtight bit is the inside. If the screw didn’t penetrate that inner layer then it should remain airtight. It’s stayed inflated and correct pressure so far :)

I have that problem on a Michelin Allweather. Loses .5 bar every two weeks or so when driving it.
I did wonder about pumping some of that repair goo in it but have so far chickened out!

I had a nail in the rear offside on the XC90 which was leaking some air gradually - it was in the tread too. Bit the bullet last Monday and had it repaired at my local Kwikfit...they wouldn’t accept payment

You were lucky, Kwik-Fit charged me £28 for the same thing

The only time a tyre can get screwed and come out smelling of roses :D
This is the thickest part of the tyre so you can smile all the while Blobcat......;)

I was expecting to be charged to be honest Andy and that price doesn’t surprise me, but they were short staffed just getting hands on jobs so I think raising a charge for £28 just didn’t make sense ! I was lucky , I’ll drop in a box of beer later for them

Not what I’ve done but what I’ve been told about my car.
So after some changes at work I’ve been placed back into our car allowance scheme. The email I’ve been dreading arrived earlier today, your car doesn’t meet the scheme criteria and I will either have to forfeit the allowance, change the car or take a company Mondeo (not practical for me to have a company car as I work from home anyway and my business mileage is tiny). So I’m hoping that I can turn around and say I won’t change and you can’t reduce my allowance as it was an existing car rather than being bought while under the scheme.
However I am never normally lucky so I may unfortunately be on the hunt for a new car, it must be under 10 years old, do at least 40mpg combined, have Co2 under 160g/km and cannot be a sports car (so saloon, 4x4 or Estate).
:(
