Personally I don't see 125k as much mileage.
The leak is almost certainly a split boost hose (very common) or a holed/split intercooler.
The boost hoses need to be removed to inspect as the splits can be very hard to see.

Yeah, the mileage isn’t much in the scheme of things but the increase in rate of deterioration is disheartening. The cosmetic issues aren’t financially worth fixing (although I wish they were, the paint on this car was not well looked after before I got it) and despite all the maintenance I have done, and parts replaced whenever there is a need, starting to think it may be better to save the £££ toward the next incarnation.
If I can get an indie to pull the boost hoses all off and find the leak this week then it would be good, else I may have a go at it next weekend (or later today is weather is good. I am also wondering if it is worth getting them to pull off the EGR valve for a clean while it is all off.

Murphys Law has struck with a vengeance! Had the SLK out for the weekend, nasty rattle from I think it's front OS suspension, suspicions of lower control arms as that was reported November before last as would need changing in the future. Called the garage this morning and arranged to take her to them, so got ready to leave - S204 battery flat as a pancake, needed wife to follow me in it to bring me home! My own fault really - I have a battery condition monitor visible through the tailgate, had not checked it, have not driven the S204 for a couple of weeks, no green or amber light, just red. So, battery charger connected on fast charge, garage told I won't be dropping the SLK off until some time this afternoon, time for caffeine recharge for both of us!

Yeah that is Sod’s law, but at least both are an easy fix :)

Well, just had the call from the garage, luckily I was sitting down! Front OS spring broken, resulatant damage to shock absorber and lower control arm, so replace springs and control arms both sides, OS shock absorber (NS is less than 18 months old, so not replacing that especially as shocker is £152 + fitting and no doubt VAT!!) plus anaother piece I can't remember, plus full 4 wheel tracking, just over £800!! Early 70th birthday present I was not expecting.

That’s what you get with huge wheels... :(

Good news new tyres fixed the issue, they were simply losing air through the cracked tread! Tracking also was a long way out on the dodgy wheel so must have pot holed at some stage.

Michelins seem good so far, also mower was a cable unclipped so quick repair, Happy Days.

Put the taxi on the Ctek conditioner. Struggled to turn over first start this morning.
It really needs to get used more often. Roll on total end of lockdown restrictions.

Seconded...

You forgot locking wheel bolts Blobcat
The wheels are what was on the car when I bought it - original owner specified the optional 17's when she ordered the car! Lockers were also on the car when I bought it! OK, after MTA forgot to torque the rear NS wheel so it lost its bolts and the wheel came off, I did put new lockers on - but I may soon replace those with the 4 spare new shiny no-rust bolts I have having replaced MB's rusty ones a while ago.

Had rear airbags replaced on my old E280 S211.

Excellent work and service from AMF again, thoroughly recommended.

Would have taken the SLK to AMF if it was closer, but I was concerned about the rattle and doing further damage. Probably just as well, as who knows what a 45 minute B road drive compared to 10 minutes A road would have resulted in! However, come service time (on both cars) it'll be AMF they're going to!

I think Craig lost a wheel too. ;)

Swapped out centre armrest module with broken latch for a new (to me) one from the states. The old one which is cosmetically near perfect is on ebay and the spare parts forum if anyone is interested.

Bless you Rus, you remembered my ordeal with the 500 xx
I also had a great deal of “fun” with my E320 when the main dealer over tightened them after a service...
