Today so far have fitted the new front disc's and pads to the SLK to compliment the rears. Would have been done the same day if they had have sent the right disc's........Or I had ordered the right ones

I fitted a detachable tow bar to the Money Pit 2 months ago, haven't used it yet, so not sure if the wiring is correct. Worked okay on a trial period when connecting up. My auto electrician said to me last week, 'did you try it connected for 20 minutes, that's the test' he said. No but I am sure the day will come when I have to use it connected for more than 20 minutes. My fingers will be crossed as he said if it isn't wired correctly the light etc will stop working
You could use that to tow your boat around (depending upon towing limits...) ;) :)

Wiring tonight, going well until discovering I have LED tail lights, no brake lights. Harumph.

I haven't got a boat!!!........well not a leaky one anyway
Maybe BC was referring to the way you'd be towing not just the boat but also the liquid you'd need to float it, especially as it tipped down coming off the trailer(assuming you'd cleared the rear drains!!):D

Sorry Snake Charmer, he couldn't remember. I know it took a little bit of thinking and I thought he traced into the loom under the cover by the boot catch. If it wasn't there it was either before or after the SAM unit? I know not much help.

Thanks for asking. I will be looking at the high level brake light tonight to see if that can be piggybacked off for the bypass relay and whilst in the tailgate I might as well attempt picking up the fog light wiring. I expect to find horrors in there as the tailgate has been replaced with a used item due to accident repairs that were badly painted. Typing S211 into Google seems to take you into a secret world! o_O

Evicted the spider from the drivers side wing mirror, been annoying me for a while but now residing elsewhere.

I hope you've declared this to your insurance company!

Wing mirror spiders are essential - what else is going to keep your car biting insect free?

You'll have to replace it with a genuine Mercedes Spider to maintain warranty...;)

I popped the rear screen inner cover off at lunchtime and had a mooch at lamp No.3, measured a decent DC voltage with the brakes on then found the corresponding Gn/Y wire in the main loom on the left of the load space where all manner of electrical gubbins resides. I cut the wire open this evening and tested the bypass relay and all good so spliced in and made good. I had the tailgate lights out and as expected, found a few horrors where the tailgate has been replaced. There's a whole sub loom in the tailgate and I did not have the time to trace the reversing and fog lamps out to the gubbins area so that will have to wait. The Euro socket is wired in and I tested the lights on the company trailer so I can go to and collect the V40 T4.
