Spent a little portion of today looking for cleaning products online, and some air fresheners. I found some good deals for the cleaning products I want, and I tested my snow foam in a spray bottle and it worked relatively well, so at least I have a potential “non-hose” method to clean the car. I am, however, completely stumped as to the air freshener to get for the car though. I love the one a previous detailed put in but, sadly, it was a self-branded one that I cannot get hold of. I don’t want the popular linen, cotton, cherry, citrus, berry stuff. Looking for a cool and sophisticated air freshener, crazy how much more difficult it is to find a good one. All the ones in shops are so tightly packaged, or in an area that stinks of them, you can’t find what you want. I have taken the chance on a few and they have been less than satisfactory so far.

Surprised myself with how much torque the E400 has with it pulling out and up Telegraph Hill in 4th on my way to Torquay today (again).

And I got here before the hosepipe ban coming into place so nipped to the local Smart Wash which isn't half bad (a few water spots are better than 3 weeks of 'ban' dust, dirt and leaves)

We’ll be lucky to get off with 3 weeks ban. Feels like it may be more like 4-6weeks at least, hope I am wrong!

Wires reconnected to the ABC thing and fluid topped up, now can I just start the 55 or does it have to go on Star or equivalent to get the system bled?

You can bleed by using the raise & lower function, also by taking for a good drive ;)

Called my Dealership and ordered 3 wiper arm nut covers. At less than £5 in total I think this will be the cheapest parts purchase that I ever have with my Mercedes.

Still smelling fuel so I pulled off the plastic cover over the injectors (shame it is a faff to have to remove the inlet manifold crossover and loosen the other intake pipe and EGR each time) and found 3 of the injector holes full of fuel - and it had been then running along the channel and onto the exhaust - hence the smell. Some of the leak-off/return pipes this time were porous and leaking. I am not surprised at their age. so I have replaced them with black silicone pipe and we shall monitor this.

Is Telegraph Hill the one that goes up the A38 to Exeter Racecourse?

Will give it a go in 4 weeks as we stop overnight at said site, but with the caravan on the back. Did it once with the W221 & 'van, surprised most traffic and then had to slow rapidly for the very tight exit :geek::shock::oops: Only an overnight en route to Polzeath for our first non school holiday, holiday in years.

Don't normally recognise local names that are not local to me passing through. I had been driven / driving over the Thelwall Viaduct on the M6 since the late 60's. Only found out it was the TV in 2020 en route to Southport. It was always the bridge over the Manchester ship canal up till then. Same as Barnsdale Bar on the A1, it was always the services with the sex shop

Traced the non-working horn on my partner's new (to her) C270CDI.

Easier than expected - both horns have failed but the supply / switching is good, so 2 (non original) ordered which should arrive & be fitted tomorrow.

£17 cheap fix and will give it it's own voice which might encourage her not to personalise it in too many other ways!

We had our old SLK & CLK on 205/55/16 winter tyres went anywhere & cheap. The SLC is on Nokian Weatherproofs all season tyres, & has been for the last 2 years. Very pleased with them in summer & winter use.
