Took it out in torrential rain!:shock::shock:
Oh dear. :(

Just let mine down off the lift ready for a nice little 250 mile run tomorrow and I'll be gutted if the weather's like that for me. It's barely been out this year, less than 20 miles in fact, and is now raring to go with bodywork shining, tyre pressures and fluid levels all correct and my bag in the boot.

I also happen to have a battery powered jet washer and a 25 litre water drum with me so at least I can give it a clean if I do get caught out. :D

It's been a while since I've been on here as I no longer daily a merc anymore. My XF is still going strong just had to do upper wishbones and rear discs and pads but after 10k miles it's holding up really well.
In Merc-related news our R129 passed its MOT with flying colours advise only on front fog lamps not working which ill probably get around to doing at some point this month.
How is everyone doing?

Pleased your XF still going, miss mine, the old addage, once a Jag driver always a Jag driver might be true!

Even though the SL500 is a huge upgrade and has been faultless on reliability with huge performance, of all my previous cars for some reason it is the Jag I remember the most. Even the W124 E220 I owned does not hold the same place as the XF!

Suspect this may be a replacement at the weekend, the 169 is going to have to go finally after 7 years of ownership and some quite large repair bills

It's not only me then.........

Fitted a replacement anti-tilt module and plug to clear an intermittent code. As posted previously, the original was destroyed by the rear washer hose popping apart and spraying straight on the connector flooding the unit. Judging by the previous repair this is not the first time but should be the last with the addition of a plastic bag cable tied around the offending hose. Code cleared, cloth loom tape to be applied. Wiring colour codes different on new plug!

Also had another go at the intermittent tailgate closure switch previously repaired by an accredited insurance repairer. Incorrect 4 pin plug bodged on with wire twists and the switch socket butchered to fit. Soldered new pins in as one had broken due to the plug not being supported. I have a plug and socket off a PCB and fan that will suit but can wait until I dismantle the tailgate again. Seems to be working at the moment.

Need to get it on the ramp this week to look at the suspension and rear brakes in preparation fir the Mot, rear creaking and front right seems to be sitting a little lower. Spring choice is a headache.
