That’s is some shockingly costly damage Alex…..Jesus !
I will be fighting for the council but I hold no hope, and may loose the will to move, primary aim is to get it back up and running, half the bits are germany only.

Getting fed up with the state of the roads in the worlds 5th richest country. It is beyond a joke.

1 ABC Strut
3 ABC lines burst
Probably a bent wheel, but I lost the enthusiam after checking the immediate damage and went home.
That's interesting, you found a truck that could load a car with collapsed suspension. I phoned a load of then in Kings Lynn and they all said no.

Perhaps a good thing though, as its probably saved me a fortune doing the ABC work myself.

Its a pal of mine, we used skates to keep the NSF bumper off the lorry, but the backend slides off and down quite low.

I can imagine they declined as they don't want to take the risk of damaging the car. Mine was only down NSF.

I'd just keep fighting and never give up. I have a friend who successfully claimed for an Alloy wheel.

Blown some filler dust off the Mercedes with an airline this afternoon.

I've been taking the Ranchero bonnet down to bare metal as mentioned at the end of THIS POST, which has been taking ages due to the size of the thing and also the amount of filler on it. I'm tending to sand it for a few minutes, then blow the dust off and finally wipe clean. Unfortunately I've had to do this under the car port which is attached to the front of the garage and, even with the door shut, the dust has managed to get absolutely everywhere. I've still got another couple of days to sand, though the majority of the filler has now been removed.

I've then got to get the Merc ready for the Beaulieu meet next Sunday, which doesn't leave me a massive amount of time. Hopefully it will be something like, though probably not as clean as I would like.

Insured it for another year.
Best price I could find was £283 with Darwin from the Confused website. Only an £18 increase over last year which I'm happy with.

Getting the old thing ready for simply, first big job was replacement lenses ,what a time consuming job as lenses stuck in with silicone lots and lots of it ,but all done now ,next on the very long list is cleaning wheels, following that interior then a really good clean outside

Took it to a DIY "Touchless" car wash, apparently the "Touchless" bit relates to the fact the spray and solution it uses doesn't touch the dirt so had to re-wash at home using a watering can to rinse a we have a hosepipe ban!!!!

Feeling guilty that I’ve been looking at E43’s again, not to worry though the crazily high secondhand prices soon bring me back to reality coupled with the fact that the S212 really is too good a car to trade-in at their silly low prices

The price of all C and E AMG had risen since they put a 4 pot in the C63, sales of new ones have totally stalled to the point that is is rumoured MB will put a proper engine back in the C63 very soon

Thinking of cancelling my A service Tuesday week on the shed and getting an oil extractor pump and DIYing myself.
I've already got the oil and filter.

If and when I go back to an AMG then it will be done at main dealer or indy.
I want a full digital record, not just the invoices for oil and filters and the promise its been done .

The ~£15 Lidl ones work well
