Fitted two new gas struts to the boot of my wife's Micra, it now opens without assistance after an initial pull.

Got the Soft 99 Fusso wax on this afternoon... not sure how it'll fair on top of the dealer-applied Protect-X, but figure it's another sacrificial layer before tomorrow's cross-country (and no doubt cack-ridden) road-trip!

Oooooo Shiney, bet it won't look like that when you pass Exeter

Bought some Tornado Red paint to do a couple of niggly bits on the Up! But I'll wait for the warmer weather.
Got a dilemma I'd like some thoughts on please.
It's not my car but I have good use from it so feeling a little responsible for the upkeep.
It's a 2013 and has done 23,000 miles. It has a normal toothed cambelt.
To change it will cost around £400 and I can't decide if it should be done or not.
What do you think?

Can't believe they still do Tornado Red, I had a '87 Polo in Tornado and a 1990 Golf GTi 16v (Deep Bumper) 3 door in Tornado

As for the belt I would be spending the money getting it changed, 11 years for a rubber belt regardless of mileage is enough

Oooh, I remember those when they were new, small child drooling in the showroom etc.

They tick my boxes of rare and unusual, definitely not seen one for a long time.

I think the first one I saw was in '79. My mates girlfriends dad had one, silver with a black roof. He traded his '74 Daimler Sovereign in for it.
Parts can be a pain to get hold of for them now.
This one was in California and the sun and heat has dried out all the leather trim around the interior. That'll be a right pain to put right. But fair not, I have vinyl which I will use to replace the dried up shrunk leather.
It's a bit of the design fault this with the lowered roof, you hit your head every time you get into the car. Mr Bertone must have been 4ft 8  It is a mission for anyone bigger than zigzag paper to get in the back seat too

Sold the absolute pile of junk. Never shall I buy another E53 BMW X5. There was never a day where I could just drive it and not have a warning light come on, or heated seats blow a fuse, or radio stop working or even have the ****** door handles freeze in cold weather, which is not a good luck for a 4x4

Took the Volvo for it's MOT today and passed with an advisory on the rear pads being low - bit of a surprise seeing its only covered 16,000 miles. Found a Volvo independent specialist only 4 miles away from me so it's booked in for rear pads at £135 and a service at £265 plus the fruit. Very reasonable I thought as it includes a courtesy car and also underbody wash / check underseal, caliper cleaning and Volvo updates.

Took the dash out of my VW T25, Tidied up the birds nest wiring (amazing what redundant wiring was in there), wired in a new 12v socket and a USB charging socket which shows battery voltage. Super upgrade. I love working on this machine.

Just as bad, but at least when the rest of the interior is back in place, we'll never know

Replaced the fog light switch on my t25 and had to rewire the rear fog light. My dog thought it prudent to chew the wire last year when I installed it. a few crimps, soldering, heatshrinks - happy larry.
