Whats going on??

My trusted merc 190E auto is changing through the gears with a 'clunk' sometimes. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I cant seem to adjust the mixture correctly on the airbox. If I adjust the mixture so that the car idles correctly when the engine is warm, the car will not start very well at all from cold. If i adjust it up slightly, the car starts better, but over revs! The needle is quite active when idling too. ever so slightly up and down all the time. Can anyone help??:cry:

sounds like you have an air leak on the inlet manifold somewhere, i'd check the vac pipe to the gearbox 1st.
