So you have the Eclass mid range in the group.

The VIN chassis number is in the screen at the bottom, pssenger side, 17 figures in all, and will start with WDB211, you could enter all of those 17 figures into here and it will tell you all about your car and what it has on it

Welcome Rob1234. The e class is a great choice of car and the diesel in particular. Although the W211 has taken a bit of stick for one or 2 problems it had initially, many of these were addressed by recalls.

A consistent fault reported is that of the battery going flat if left for prolonged periods (couple of weeks at the airport when you are on holiday), but I never had that problem.

Cars fro 04/04 have the benefit of galvanising and better paintwork (car wash resistant), so should be "immune" to the rust problems that can affect the earlier W210 model.

No sir the 320 CDI is a normal engine as used in many models, and a very good one at that

Its a straight 6 diesel 204bhp I believe.

And around 370lbs/ft of torque - which is what makes it quicker in everyday use than the 320 petrol - and helps it give 50% more miles per gallon, and a better resale value.

I looked up my C230SE Avantgarde Sport and it shows it has having a manual 5 speed gearbox when in reality it has a 7 speed auto. How accurate is the information the site gives?
