Hi all.

I have a 1991 230CE. Whilst Im sure it isnt going to be thought of as a classic JUST yet, can anyone tell me when it IS considered to be a classic car? Is it 20yrs plus for insurance purposes?
Also, any advice on competitive insurance quotes please? Have taken the number of the one detailed on site, but any others too?
Thanks,
Maria

You'll find most classic policys are second vehicle only policys and for social and domestic purposes only. Meaning you have to have another vehicle insured as your main vehicle and the 'classic' can't be used to travel to and from a place of work.

I've been using Hastings Direct for a good few years now as they seem to be the cheapest with Mercedes for me.

Thanks ever so much for your help. Will try Hastings Direct and see how they compare.

Shame about it having to be a second car. I dont actually work, so although I would only want it to be for social domestic and pleasure purposes, and do less than 5000 miles a year, it WOULD be my main car.

Trust me to luck-out on that one! *smile*

Maria - thrilled to bits with her 230CE

for classic car insurance talk to Adrian Flux

They judge it on the car not the age of the car.

we've had good service from them in the past.

As for competitive priced insurance for "normal" mercs, the best deal we got was from Chaucer - and when unfortunately we did have to claim their service was great
