Yo!
A persistent issue that has re-surfaced its head this week.. Have been back and forth with merc over this within warrenty and they've never found the cause or fixed it, the car is now out of warranty..
It's been a while since I've hit this issue again, but it's happened several times this week.. Seems that the cold weather worsens it.
The issue:
When driving at a constant speed for a while, say cruise control set at 50mph for 20+ mins, then the road changes to 70mph, if I cancel the cruise control and hard accelerate to the higher speed, the car drops the gear, revs up, but fails to pick up speed, instead judders/vibrates quite aggressively and blasts white vapor that quickly disepates (doesn't linger like smoke). I have to back off the accelerator completely and try again to return to accelerating.. Can be dangerous sometimes, as the car just doesn't move when it should.. Only happens when transitioning from a slower idle speed to hard acceleration.. If I'm driving it hard all the time, this doesn't happen..
Any experience like this? Ecu issue with fueling or gear box issue? Turbo? Quite a frustrating issue, car runs great otherwise..
Thanks!
