When i was at work yesterday, we got a callout to Bickley Station (i work for the railway).
Out side the station is a 1992 E class(i think...not very good a telling the diff between models)with a 7 day council sticker on it.....i had a bit of a closer look and its only showing 83.000 on the clock, the interior was spotliss apart from some old crap spread around the inside and the only visable prob with the car was a dent in the drivers door....all the doors were unlocked and i was surprised to see it still had the original stereo in it, without any marks on it, trying to be removed......if i'd of owned a pick up truck, i might of been tempted to bring it home.....what a waste of a nice car......evern if it had been stolen the owner would have been told where it is by now.

Chris166, bit of info for you. I called DVLA today as someone has dumped a Metro 42K in very good nick outside my house. DVLA say if you call the police and get clearance that it is not stolen, and call the council to get clearance that it has been reported dumped. You can claim it and register it yourself. You need to send a letter to DVLA with all the details and they will send you a new Reg Document. I have done this with the Metro. I dont want it but it runs and I will sell it once I have polished it and changed the ytres.

Phil/R10RGT, I'm sorry I had to break into the car, so it now has a new door handle as I replaced it. Also it was a non runner when I picked it up, but I have covered  quite a few miles in it already.If you want it pop £500.00 into my letterbox and you can take it back.I haven't replaced the locks yet, so your wife's keys should still work.Failing that Chris166 if you pick up the Benz we can do a swap.

If I'd just lost a Metro, I'd consider it £500 well spent to persuade you to keep it....
