I used to call my Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ "monster" for obvious reasons :)

Now my wife named the A-class "bubble" because of it's shape.

Our c63 amg has been called Christine, after the Stephen king film. Mainly because she's a lovely car but disrespect her and she WILL kill you

    "Woody"

My other estate car is a bit older and doesnt carry as much stuff as my S210 but has plenty of character..... 1964 Ford (shhhh!) Consul Cortina woody estate. One of apparently 11 remaining on the road.

Thanks chaps. I certainly cant imagine buying a modern Ford!
Its interesting how differently other drivers treat me on the road when Im driving this rather than the Mercedes! In the woody Im always let out and given way to. Not quite the same case in the Merc!

    That Cortina is really nice.

I've had some old Fords in my time, most notably 4 Capri's, three 3ltr V6's and one 2.0S... All of them ended up with the name "Crappy", I was a glutton for punishment in those days ;)

My sixteen year old 129 is now called Austin, it came about when I gave someone a lift to his place of work, when his own Land rover discovery wouldn't start, getting into my car he remarked, "this is rather ostentatious" this from a person whose 2year old Discovery failed to start! I recounted the story to some friends and ever since they ask, hows yer Austin?

It still makes me smile when people assume (wrongly) that because you own a Mercedes, that some how they think you should not!

Perceptions of the Marque I guess.

A very nice looking Cortina BTW.

One of my Alfa spiders, I regularly call "twat", due to it's moodiness as to whether it wants to start or not.:D

Just updated my signature with some of my previous highlights. Still have one of them a 1976 Alfa Spider 2000 which I have had restored and owned for 24 years. It has the lowest milage of any of my cars at 56K. Sounds good with two twin choke Webber 45's - thats carbs for the younger viewers.

Nearly every car we have had acquired a nickname based on the reg e.g.:

We had a V-reg Chysler Alpine (not my fault it was an allocated fleet car but I must say it went like stink) and it had letters DOG so the kids christened it "Doggy Vee". We had a Ford Cortina with letters ULK so of course it became "The 'ulk". Today, my wife's car has HGY in the registration letters so it's called "Huggy" - rather reminiscent of the tv series Starsky and Hutch.

But I have a problem with my C220 - it starts with BJ...
    - I was going to say I had a "good taste" problem but decided against it.

my 06 altis is named Ellen

Ellen because the no plate is ALN-xxx so first three digits sound like ellen and my mother put the name because i watch a lot of foreign motoring and other shows etc many with female presenters so it was a female name and it stuck.

my 2010 toyota altis no plate is ATA-xxx

    so A stands for Arzaam
T stands for my young brother's name Tahaam
    A stands for Altis

and the three digits are all in sequence with the digit of the month of my mothers, mine and my brother's birthday,
and the green gov stamp on the plate signifies the father:p

    quite a crowded no plate:p

ATA can also mean Arzaam's Toyota Altis:p

My first car was a N reg Fiat Punto 55XS in midnight blue, the car was called Zee, and he had a character, he didn't like my dad at all and refused to start whenever my dad drove. Always started with me and never gave me any problems.

1st MOT set my dad back £700, I was out of a job and was only 20 years old back then LOL, I am now 35... :)
