At least you will be able to over-ride it otherwise that just spells danger to me. There are occasions when it is necessary to go over the speed limit to get out of trouble. Mind you I can't remember the last time I did, I am usually very conscious of speed limits and always try to adhere to them. To help me do that I do use cruise control an awful lot.

It's just another pebble along the rocky road to fully automated cars when Big Brother will control the speed of all cars (and they'll queue much closer than social distance)! Still, you will be able to have a read, watch a movie or even have a snooze while the car takes you to your appointed destination. Not a future to relish, is it?

This is a bit different though. It is a "black box" for our vehicles which will record everything, and at its worst has the potential to enable speeding tickets to be automatically issued.
If the vehicle is involved in an incident subject to an insurance claim you can bet your recent driving history will be examined in detail.
Do not underestimate the potential effects of this.
