Hi, new here but wonder if anyone can help??
I have owned this car since April 2002.
The MAJOR problem with this car is that the Gearbox has computer problems. This started almost a year ago when the gearbox stopped changing smoothly so I had a £1700 recon on the box(receipt available).
Everything was fine until a few months ago when the box stopped changing properly, it is stuck in "safe mode". If the computer is reset at the Mercedes garage it will run perfectly for a day or so.
The Gearbox ECU was replaced by Mercedes, Part no A017 545 07 32 Siemens. After I was told by Mercedes to replace this part, I was not happy that this extra £600 did not fix the Gearbox.
Even worse they would not return my money.
They tell me that they cannot get the Gearbox ECU to talk with the engine ECU. What this means I am not really able to explain
