...New minister asks why can't we just stop immigration, or have 7 days working in the NHS. The civil servants then have to explain why that might cause problems, and try to put it into action, when the last lot wanted something different. A thankless task.
This.
Be careful what you wish for...the bubble is about to burst...again.
Home heating oil down to 22.5p per litre today...from 66p (or more for some poor sods) in 2013. More than halved in just over a year.
So, stock markets around the world plummeting today...the price of oil being blamed. Call me a prophet if you want. Anybody still not worried?
Can't you run old tech diesels on that stuff ?
I believe you can.

I've just been looking at the nominal rate of biodiesel; been considering it for a while for my oil burning fleet. It's now at around £0.61/litre down from around £0.80/l 4 years ago, when I first thought of looking at it. Still a 40% saving... I may yet go down this route.
The duty payable on bio/B100 remains at the same as on petrochems. / aka dino diesel, (something like) 58p/L.
Once the 20 p/L RTFO 'kick-back' was removed recently for the small bio brewers using used oil, the market was doomed and they all went to the wall.
Those selling biodiesel cheaper than derv. are therefore selling it as 'heating fuel' with no duty paid. It certainly doesn't stack up now as it didn't at the heady prices of last year!
