Got every thing back in ok ,started engine and SRS light on,does it need re setting, what needs to be done to rectify

With the SRS lamp it needs STAR to turn that off, was a fuse pulled for the SRS

Took car out for drive but SRS light staying on together with 1 malfunction, does this meen a trip to star or leave it for a while to see if it goes out after a few more miles.
the only connections pulled were those for the pump so why would it effect the srs system.

I wish that I had the answer to this, but I do not,,it could be a seat connector or belt fault, it will have to go on STAR, there is no other way.
The PSE pump has nothing at all to do with the SRS system

Will take it early next week,, these systems seem very temprimental, like you say may be a seat belt fault, hope nothing to serious though.

Thanks.....Steve.

Most SRS system faults are the connectors, the trouble is its a safety system, and the only part of the car that needs STAR to check it and turn it off, there may not be any fault and rare to have this fault on a 230

A good and helpful thread. The central locking fuse on my SL 350 is blown. I removed the pump and checked the foam but it is all dry. Very cold today but I don't think the problem is water ingress. Do you know of any other reason why this fuse might blow
Thank you

If all dry and clean in the cold weather the turbine vanes can break up, the center hole in the carbon rotor is really too tight and it breaks up.

The pumps are dead easy to take apart, the case just splits, you can unsolder the motor and try it across the battery, when the rotor breaks up the motor will not turn. The repair kits are on Ebay.

Does the metal key turn in the lock, it should be spring biased in one direction, when the key is held in this position the handle should engage.

Hi
I can use the key turn to the left and the handle engages and I can open the boot ,Im a fellow Dorset boy from Weymouth lol

So it doesn't work when I use key fob to unlock the car , I have to use the key to gain entry which defeats the objective of the system

Thank you, The problem could be a broken wire in the hinge area, or the lock in the lid has failed.

What do they mean by "the boot was going to ground" ?

To find the problem please measure the voltage on Pin 1 of the small (6 pin) connector on the PSE central locking pump.
This pin should be at (approx.) 12 Volts and go to (approx.) zero when you operate the opening handle.
If you can find this out we can move forward.
Attached is the schematic / wiring diagram, if it will help
Regards

The mercedes tech said when they put the new lock in it would work ok off the Star laptop but when opening by hand the circuit went to ground IE I presumed earthed out so they refitted the old one.

so as previous have will not unlock when using key fob or internal door switch

Hi Dave will look at that in the next few days and feed back thanks for your support and advise

Very hard to follow "Gone to ground" one connection is ground, there are 2 ways to do wiring, leave the item live and use the ground connection for switching.
