Ours is in the Charente Maritime. Pretty much smack in the middle of La Rochelle, Bordeaux and Angouleme.

Sounds nice. Not jelious at all

40 odd years back I drove to my mates after putting on some wider rear steel wheels and heard a rattle from the back - 3 of the 4 wheel nuts fell out as I took the hubcap off the one side.... oops.. The nuts on the other side were working their way up the thread as well. You only do it once and I'm not OCD about it.....

Drained the CLK gearbox sump as i was under the car tinkering with the exhaust when my Opie oils delivery arrived (Fuchs ATF 4L :D) . Added just under 3L of new red stuff .
The sump bolt is getting a bit mashed so ordered a new one from MB for pick up tomorrow . When it arrives im going to do another sump atf drop and add my remaining 3L of Fuchs oil (some old , some new stock ) . Before adding the new sump plug .
The ATF filter is 16k miles old , so this was just a cheap freshen up .

I've just got back home from spending a few days driving around north east Norfolk (North Walsham and surrounding area), those roads are bad! We drove along the coast road from Mundesley to Blakeney, it's meant to be an A road but its narrow and bumpy most of the way and no better than a minor country road around me.

That’s where the FPO is from. The roads there are an embarrassment to roads and embarrassments!

You've only been on the big roads so far Craig! :D
Well I presume the A38 superhighway from Paignton to Plymouth is a big road? It’s got a full lane in either direction. Mind you vs the dirt tracks of North Norfolk at least it has white lines and cats eyes..!

Well, that is THE big road... although normally down to one lane due to either broken down sheds, badly driven sheds, or naffly timed roadworks!

The good roads are the ones with vegetation scraping each wing mirror (usually obscuring at least one), and some sort of greenery brushing the underside of the car. Often to be found with a caravan wedged somewhere along it, because "the sat Nav said so"! o_O

On a few occasions I had to pass trucks and in one case an artic, I found them to be very considerate, it was white van man who raced along the roads causing me to brush along the nearside vegetation to avoid a collision!

We used the trip to recon the local area with a view to relocating from Hertfordshire but there's no way we could drive those roads on a daily basis plus the area is far too sleepy for us (excluding Cromer and Sheringham but we wouldn't want to live in either town).

My older brother just re-located to the Norfolk/Suffolk border not far from Southwold, it is a sleepy Hamlet just a few houses/farms and a pub, he has no children, can't see him staying there long as he has just retired and thrives on social interaction...
