It's a grey area. The MOT standards state that there can be no modifications to the cars exhaust however the law says that there can be no modification that changes the vehicles ability to meet the emissions standards it was designed to meet.

Legally catalytic converter removal should be an instant fail on MOTs.

............Continuing on from yesterday, the 55 had water getting into the engine ECU from a detective fuse box cover (I think I got that right?) and corroding the plug and terminals, now sorted
Great work Alex and superb service, you can now do some extra jobs that need sorting on the car ........and and see you next summer Alex if I remember to pick up the car

Just looked out of the window to see that a damn Seagull has just covered the car with poo from which looks like a scatter gun. That is a bit frustrating as I am working from home, I dare not leave the Phone or Emails and I am dying to wash it off before the sun bakes it on. Aarrhhgg !!

Very nice car, I love the colour, but IMO the grille doesn't suit it. These grilles dont look right to my eyes on some models.

I have to admit, I am not a big fan of it on that car either. Can I ask what your opinion would be of one on an A Class AMG Line ?

Crawled under the rear of the E class on axle stands , sprayed the rear headlight level adjuster by the diff with some ACF50 and any rear brake pipes I spotted .
Then to free up my garage for extra space , I used up a can of Dinitrol ML rust spray gunk which I pointed at any brown stuff that didn’t look like it belongs under the car .
The rear subframe is some form of non rusting alloy so I haven’t got the problems that the C class has with rusting rear subframes .
I’m getting an urge to do another unnecessary rear diff oil change (both cars have had 3 each so far ) , it’s always a nice job in the sun , quick and cheap . I’ll try and resist though

Put a napkin over the armrest as it was too hot to rest on - air con working beautifully and gearbox smooth as silk (thanks to MBS)

Anyone else noticed that the latest Mercedes Actros lorries don’t have wing mirrors... I’ve seen a couple now, they just have very aerodynamic camera pods high up from the top of the cab. I bet they improve the fuel efficiency and are much cheaper to make.

I have resecured the drivers door control pod for the seats etc , looks like someone tried to take it off without removing the door card

Went for a drive out to the local marina for a picnic. It's a 16 mile round trip but took a shortcut...... Then gave it a quick wash 9.00pm when it was cooler. I'm going to get the polish and wax out and do a bit each night...
