What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

Cleaned the engine bay for the first time. Didn't manage to get a gloss finish on the plastic. Should have given more time to the cleaning and agitation stages.

I replaced the wiper blades but the new ones are a bit bigger than the old ones.

Amazon said they were compatible with an R230... not sure they're correct though.

I tested them out and they seem fine, and they wipe almost to the very edge of the windscreen which is nice.

Tempted to keep them on. Anything I should be worried about?

Not even slightly, lots of polish and wax on the bodywork

Lucky you had.......that "fertiliser" can leave an indelible mark on car paintwork..

Has that gearbox ATF ever been changed buddy ? The cap still looks like it’s got a black tab in it ?
Also you could do with getting some “wire blockers” for the cam magnets on the front of the engine to stop oil wicking along the wires (common M271 problem) , see the green bits in my picture .

If they work and don’t clash then all sounds good ? How much longer are they ?

No, ATF has never been changed. 120,000 miles on the clock. Next job on the list.

I have the car a few months. 3rd owner and first Mercedes owner. So, all new to me.

That’s because they don’t want to mess up their hair... I just don’t get why people buy them then don’t use them as intended. Perhaps they just like the cachet of having a drop top Mercedes

My 272 miles yesterday was all top down and a lot of it side windows down as well

Side windows in mine is Mrs indicator, up = in/on our way, down = out/on our way home.

I now carry a Mercedes baseball cap that I make her wear if we are on our way home so the side windows can go down!

Just looked out of the window to see that a damn Seagull has just covered the car with poo from which looks like a scatter gun. That is a bit frustrating as I am working from home, I dare not leave the Phone or Emails and I am dying to wash it off before the sun bakes it on. Aarrhhgg !!

I hope you succumbed, it was an emergency akin to the fire alarm going off in the office!
