Hi, I have a 2006 CLK350 Cabriolet. Some jerk cut through my top the other night and used a screw driver on my glovebox even though it wasn't locked. I need to replace the latch, but having a hard time figuring out how to remove the trim to get to the broken pieces. I do have the CD changer as well, but looks like the broken piece is on the door. Looks like Television has the information I need. My E-mail address is Ealenius@aol.com. Thanks!!!

Television: You previously sent me details for repairing glove box but it was for a 203. My car is a w209 CLK 2003 53 PLATE. My glove box has a centre latch and it appears that the spring is possibly u/s. Would you please send me the detials for a 209. Grateful for this. Email address is alandbrown@fsmail.net.

Television:

Thank you for the instructions! I now have the glove box lid off, but find myself in another quandry. I can't figure out how to seperate the black felt lined plastic from the grey "pleather" outside. I am trying to remove the hasp. Either it is not removable, or I can't figure this out. It appears as if it is glued together. There are only four visible screws and they only hold on the handle trim piece. Can you let me know if the hasp is replaceable? Thanks.

Television, thanks very much for the 209 glovebox door removal. It transpires the problem is with the catch on the door. I have managed to remove the outer handle but there does not appear to be a simple way of removing the catcch. Do you or anyone else know how to remove/replace the catch?? (CLK 270 W209) Any photos would be appreciated alandbrown@fsmail.net

The parts that can be bought are in the picture and numbered, if not there then only with a new lid

Hello again, I am discovering all sorts of issues with my car, and clearly lots of solutions from this forum. Please could you send me the same email, as I have a difficult glovebox too. Thank you.

You won't get a reply from Malcolm for a while - he's on holiday for about another week or two. Maybe someone else can assist in the meantime.
