    1996 R129 SRS problems

I don't know the answer but is it possible it's tripped a G-level sensor and disabled something, such as the fuel pump for example?

    R171 SLK55 or R172 SLK55 AMG

This thread has me looking at the classifieds. How is it with the roof up please Alexander? Leak free? Fairly quiet? Thanks. One thing about my 129 that is a pain is the hardtop storage.

    2006 cl500

IMO £8,000 is dear for a 215, unless it's AMG flavoured. As RM says, that's 216 money and that is what I would rather have, no question.

    R129 10cm door speakers repair

I am no expert when it comes to this, but I have been carrying some early research as my right speaker breaks down at pathetic volume. It came with an aftermarket HU. I think it would be easier to change all the speakers to 4 ohm and find a cheap-ish amp to replace the one under the NSR seat

    W140 Wiper Relay

I believe the later 140s use a control unit which is also linked to blinkers/hazard warning. See if you can find A140 820 71 26

Star knock offs from china, Anyone got one?

I have an acquaintance with a hooky STAR on an old laptop bought all together. It is set to developer mode so powerful but it could also land one in a spot of bother if one deleted something or similar. I'd be interested it it can reset an SRS light after I disconnected the seatbelt tensioner...

r129 sl500 AMG suspension spring identification

Richard, do you have WIS or some other MB system? From where do you source your excellent information?

r129 sl500 AMG suspension spring identification

Yes they differ. The thickness is doubled at the wheel, so for example a 5mm shim will make 10mm difference in ride height. I don't know about 129s but on 140s one can feel the shim thickness by the number of 'knobs' at the top of the shim in situ. I had a nightmare trying to sort this out on...

    Driving to France from UK

Chuck your start/finish in the Michelin website. It does nearly everything including toll/fuel cost. It's also worth buying the Emovis tag to save the hassle at toll booths unless you plan to go off piste the whole way

    W140 Coupe Seat Belt Extenders

If the motor works then is there something which prevents it extending? My RH belt guide has worn so it can't extend but it tries once a second for about 5 times and then stops as it detects an obstruction. I think access is gained by removing the rear seat base and then the quarter trim. It's...

I have my first trade policy through Dave at MSM Insurance. It's fairly restricted but the service was very good. He's very helpful so worth a call IMO.

    Stuttgart museum and factory visit

I went in 2020 between lockdowns and it's excellent. Allow 4-5 hours to see it properly. Everyone speaks English as you might imagine. I drove and parked so I can't help you with public transport. There are some pictures in my reader's rides thread.
