20% Discount on MB Service plans

Mercedes seem to be really pushing this offer. I have been getting about one e-mail a week for a while now...and this is despite me taking up the offer at end of July.
It ends on 30th September, so if you're still thinking about it you better hurry up.

MB have just sent me a letter offering me another chance to extend my original 12 month warranty with them ...... they thought perhaps that due to COVID I had other things on my mind & the buying an extended warranty wasn't at the fore front of my mind. They're offering me a 30% discount. 30% off what I don't know.

Yes it would seem so, and this is what I had been thinking.
Audi had a similar offer running in the first half of the year but they ended it almost 1 month early.
It has not been a good year for car sales so they will be keen to get money wherever they can.

I bet MB UK just pay the dealers 20% less for any work they carry out.

I wonder what the normal re-imbursement rate is from MB? Dealer always refused to give me invoices when I had the old ServicePlus package. However on wife's VW, we've been given invoices a couple of times - they're about half the normal cost.

In the event of forking out £1000, I'd rather spend it at an indie if I HAD to spend it, rather than fork out £1000 to MB just in case

I doubt I've thrown out their original letter ..... maybe I'll have a look for it.

That is my thinking - low risk for them so low risk for me but it is a numbers game.

About 40 years before she died, my mum decided to cancel her building contents insurance (kept fire cover) and self-insured. She must have saved a fortune as insurance was comparatively expensive back then!

Sept 2015 my Mum renewed her contents insurance without the flood part of it because the insurance companies wanted more than she was prepared to pay as she lives on a flood plain. It's never flooded in the 50 yrs she's lived there. Boxing Day 2015 she was knee deep in the living room!

I know a guy who is retired now but he owned a lumber mill/forestry business a few years back, last three years he operated he didn't pay his liability insurance. He saved at least £100k as tree felling is high risk. He said in the the three years he had one man injure his hand in the factory which he settled out of court out of his pocket for a few grand. Risky business but he was lucky

you can do it online. its actually from MBUK and you choose the dealer to service your car who then i presume claim back from MBUK

Confirmed by a member on the "other" forum who rang MBUK for a definitive answer due to rumours it had been extended until end Nov.

Previous one was 3 years ago, so you might have to wait a while, unless desperation sets in again.
