Hi, these warning lights now appear when I start my car. Also, the Run Flat Tyre indicator also reports as Inoperative?? Any ideas? Could this be due to brake light switch? Am going to a Merc specialist who no doubt will take me to the cleaners to get this resolved and just want to make sure that this is not a common problem with a straight forward (and cheap!) solution. Any ideas appreciated!

Hi, there are many possible causes of these error warnings, but it seems a problem with a wheel speed sensor signal is most likely.
If this is the case, reluctor rings cause trouble on the W211.

Took it to a mechanic and found that the front right (driver side) wheel speed sensor AND brake pad sensor cables were both cut! Can this happen through normal driving? Surely not? Am told that the wheel speed sensor cable is around £120+vat and hundreds of £ for the brake pad sensor cable as is a big job to replace as it goes all the way back to the harness and around car etc? Is this correct? I then called MErc parts and they told me £19 for the brake pad sensor cableAny advice much appreciated.

As David in the above post they can be spiced,,, Volvo supply a lead just long enough to get the splice under the bonnet, you can do the same, only 2 wires and fine just soldered and heat shrink cable.
