    DO NOT BUY FH65ZPS silver e class coupe for sale at jag land rover Southampton it’s completely bodged!!
    !hi all just had to join to alert everyone not to buy Fh65zps
    I put a deposit on it 2 weeks ago on the grounds the endless list of scratches on the body the worn turbo , the massive scratch on the centre consul on self close panel mechanism, damaged push start surrounding and door panels and much more, sales reps and management promised the world and lied and lied and lied half the repair not done and none to a acceptable standard at all , in the dry the paint repairs are so awful it looks Blochy , I’ve now pulled out the sale and reported a formal complaint to trading standards, also I have evidence that the service has just been stamped in the book by jag land rover as the wouldn’t supply the service sheet upon numourous request, also I have proof the sales team mostly Daniel !!!!!!!! lied no less than 46 times during the cause of this attempt to sale the badly damaged car .
    Please share as I’m new to this.

    Why would you respond like this to someone raising an alert of bad sales practice? Are you involved in some way?

    This is just a small portion of it and I’ll be more than willing to prove any of it in court ,
    They also tried to con me into there finance , no less than seven times they tried to say they had bettered my bank loan offer only to ask me to pay more each month or over a longer term!
    But the main thing is don’t get stuck with that car !!
    Official complaint has been raised with jag also ref no 8000613762

    Lying salespeople and incomplete repairs - that all sounds pretty common these days with major motor retailers. Just go down the road to Mercedes Southampton. I wouldn’t trust them to tell the truth either but at least you’ll get a decent E Coupe with full Mercedes warranty.

    I've had a bad experience with Marshall Mercedes. Dealers don't care about customers. All about the profits.

    If you check the MOT history of FH65ZPS it alleges that it has only covered 234 miles between 18th September 2018 and 21st February 2019 so it has been hanging around for some time trying to find a new owner :rolleyes:

    Not quite sure of this assessment, a lot of us tuck our cars away for the winter and exercise them in the spring & summer.

    I think you’re original assessment is right, judging by the damage around the push start, someone attempted to steal the car at one point and scratched the interior deeply with a screw driver .
    Jag land rover even broke the central retractable cover to stay open to hide they hadn’t fixed it !
    Honestly you couldn’t make it up if you tried.

    If it’s so bad why did you agree a deal on it in the first place? There’s thousands of cars out there...

    Depends what you have in writing from the dealer. Sounds like you were out of your depth and using the tinterweb to vent your spleen.

    post the result of trading stds and jags investigation,and as above , in most cases plenty of choice ref cars/suppliers, if yr not happy vote with yr feet... personally i would have walked after the first viewing if car was as stated. any decent retailer would have had it sorted before letting any punters see it....

    I agreed because to put it simply, I was lied to !!!
    I’ll be happy to post the results and 20 plus email thread that proves they promised everything and at one point they even start saying what pictures when the previous day they promised to send pictures to prove the work hard been done, it’s all in writing.
    I’m only sorry I had to wait for my deposit to show in my bank before exposing them and the car .I gave them every chance to be honest.
    A man is nothing if he is not trustworthy.

    I agree it was very very stupid of me to think jaguar Land Rover would be a decent retailer.

    Anyway I guess it’s lesson learned. I think we’ve all (at one point or another) gone to see a car we liked but with some faults listed which were promised to be fixed...mostly it gets done but i guess that’s the deposit in faith culture dealers live in....

    Update, surprise, surprise
    Jag head office are not acting on the complaint because it’s a Mercedes and not one of there products, but they have forwarded my complaint to inchcape and stressed that they would like them to deal with the situation in the manor one of there franchises should,
    So waiting to here from head of business for inchcaep jag Southampton.
    Also the motor ombudsman have registered the complaint but say I have to give inchcape a chance , as if I didn’t give them 10 already.
    Will post outcome ASAP .

    and expect for sod all to get done , you will probably just get an apologetic email or phone call IF you are lucky , anyways you have done enough to warn anyone on here at least

    frankly this is why i prefer a face to face private sale. i have little faith in used car dealers to have ANY of my interests at heart. its the way of the world . at a dealer i am 1. fairly sure i would be paying too much, 2 in grave doubt that they would honour any comittment to rectify anything once i had left to forcourt.
    i buy on condition, and prefer a clean ,undamaged interior and body to a mechanical issue. but as we all know on here electronic issues are very much at the fore of todays likely and expensive dramas and in many cases very hard to spot...

    Weren't Southampton Mercedes on YouTube some time ago where the mechanics thrashed a customers car to nip to the cash point and grab some lunch?

    Sorry to hear of your experience and its just such a waste of ones times to be treated like this.

    Sadly as mentioned previously by others, this is car sales for you pretty much with respectable dealers few and far between.

    For me, private sale always. I'd rather put the money in the hands of someone who may need it to run their home/buy next car etc, in exchange for an honest motor, rather than pay dealers for zero after care and polished up lemons.
